We prefer to develop surface water resources using spring cap systems because community involvement is greater, spring cap systems require virtually no maintenance, and it is easier to establish whether water quality and quantity are sufficient to meet the community's needs. However where surface water resources are inadequate, it is necessary to develop groundwater resources, drilling wells that can be accessed with hand pumps.

MPP has professionally trained well drilling team and well drilling rig that drills wells for JUST Water projects and for other non-government organizations and communities.

JUST Water and MPP have created a well rehabilitation, maintenance, and repair program to avoid the common problem of inadequate community management of wells. Communities seeking our assistance in rehabilitating an existing well or drilling a new well must first enroll in this program.
